2019-05-10 07:00

ROAD Fighting Championship announces the opening of ROAD FC 054 which will take place on June 15, 2019 in Wonju, South Korea. Stand out middleweight rookie Hwang In-Su returns against Choi Won-Jun.

ROAD FC 054 additional bouts

Middleweight stand out rookie Hwang In-Su (4-0, Team MAD) returns to face Choi Won-Jun (3-3, MMA Story) a heavy hitter with submission skills. Hwang was pulled from a fight with Yang Hae-Jun due to injury, and now fully recovered, he'll take to the cage again. Choi put in a good performance to earn a decision over Jeon Uh-Jin but then was on the receiving end of a KO by acrobat Michel Pereira, so he is hungry to get back to winning by defeating a strong rookie.

Bantamweights Yoo Jae-Nam (6-8, Road Gym Wonju) and Kim Tae-Gyun (2-4, Team Finish) will meet in an effort to climb back into the rankings. Yoo recently won a revenge victory by choke out over Han Yi-Moon to get himself out of a rut. Kim defeated hot Chinese prospect Wang Deyu, but then lost to newcomer Yuki Ito. Yoo is hoping to surge back into his former prospect glory while Kim wants to redeem his recent loss, so this should be a hotly contested battle for pride.

Middleweight Championship

At ROAD FC 054, Middleweight Champion La In-Jae will take on challenger Yang Hae-Jun in his first title defense. La will again be tested by the power of deep experience that challenger Yang has, however La wants to prove to the world that he's no longer a prospect, but a champion.
