ROAD FC Bantamweight Championship announcement: Kim Soo-Chul vs Kim Min-Woo

A title match for the ROAD FC Bantamweight belt, which was vacated by Lee Yun-Jun due to sudden illness, will see superstar Kim Soo-Chul (14-5-1, Team Force) face super prodigy Kim Min-Woo (8-1, MMA Story).

Kim Soo-Chul is one of the hottest success stories of Korean MMA. At 20 years old he held the first ONE Championship Bantamweight belt, and after showing a brilliant game to Bibiano Fernandes which resulted in a 5-round decision loss, Kim has gone undefeated across eight matches. All of his opponents have been UFC veterans and international top fighters such as Taiyo Nakahara, Maike Linhares, and Marcus Brimage.

Kim Min-Woo has grown up almost exclusively in ROAD FC. His sole loss was a very close majority decision. Since then, he ran over Japanese veteran Shoko Sato, and knocked out Shooto Champ Yuta Nezu in just 15 seconds. Kim Min-Woo will be the third MMA Story proponent to fight for a ROAD FC title; his coach is Middleweight Champion Cha Jung-Hwa, and his teammate Choi Mu-Gyeom is the thrice defending Featherweight Champ.

The match was expected to be announced for ROAD FC on 10 December, however Kim Min-Woo has undergone a minor surgery which won't allow him to fully train for this date. The Bantamweight Title match will be postponed. Kim Soo-Chul will still appear on the 10 December ROAD FC card against an opponent to be announced shortly.

ROAD FC Lightweight Championship

At the top of the December card, ROAD FC Lightweight Champion Kwon A-Sol (20-10, Apgujeong Gym) will take on his second title challenger, Sasaki Shinji (17-9-3, Burst).

The outspoken Kwon is gaining national attention as the front-runner in a currently airing reality game show “Society”, in which his tactical, intelligent traits are out in force.

Sasaki defeated Bruno Miranda at Xiaomi ROAD FC 032 to earn his right as challenger. He rocked Miranda in the opening stanza then spent a grueling two rounds dominating on the ground before getting the submission victory.
