ROAD FC 042 INJURY UPDATE

YOON DONG-SIK AND KIM CHANG-HEE SUFFER HAND INJURIES

Xiaomi ROAD FC 042 took place on September 23, 2017 at the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival. There were two fighters who suffered injuries requiring treatment at the ROAD FC Official Hospital, Jung Hospital.  Fortunately they are both expected to make complete recoveries.

Yoon Dong-Sik, fractured fingers

Yoon Dong-Sik put on a dominating match over fellow veteran Minowa Man, but injury changed the potential outcome. During the second round, Yoon himself asked the referee for a stop because of a finger injury. Yoon proceeded to the hospital, and the x-ray results showed that the third and fourth fingers of his right hand were fractured. He is scheduled for surgery on September 29th. Yoon's recovery period is estimated at 6 to 8 weeks.

Yoon Dong-Sik commented, “This was my first fight in one year and four months. In this situation with an injury, I think I made the right decision. If I have a change to avenge this loss, I will do my best and show you a better performance.”

Kim Chang-Hee, fractured and dislocated fingers

Kim Chang-Hee rematched Shim Gun-Oh from when their previous bout was a No Contest due to quick and accidental injury to Shim. However, Kim was not so lucky this time around. In the first round he injured his right hand. The results of the x-ray showed a fourth finger fracture and a fifth finger dislocation. Any surgical schedule hasn't been decided, so the recovery period can only be diagnosed later.

Kim Chang-Hee stated, “Thank you all for your support and I'm sorry. I will do my best to cure these injuries and I'll get back a little bit to prepare for the next match.”

ROAD FC wishes both fighters speedy and full recoveries.
