ROAD FC Openweight Tournament Semifinal matches announced: Choi Hong-Man versus Aorigele, Mighty Mo versus Myung Hyun-Man

ROAD Fighting Championship just held its first event in China on 26 December in Shanghai. At the Oriental Sports Center, 14,000 people attended the event which was also broadcast live on China's state-run station CCTV (earning a number 5 rating overall), live streamed in China on CNTV, and live streamed internationally on Epicentre.tv.

During ROAD FC 027, the Quarterfinals of the Openweight tournament were held. Myung Hyun-Man TKOed Liang Lingyu in just 13 seconds. Mighty Mo and Choi Mu-Bae battled it out longer than their first meeting but Mo's heavy hands got him the TKO at 3:43 of the first round. Big men Aorigele and Kim Jae-Hun swung at each other with bad intentions, with Referee Herb Dean physically stopping the fight by pulling Aorigele of Kim's prone and battered body at just 24 seconds into the fight. In the Main Event, young up and comer Luo Quanhao was landing shots on Hong Man-Choi, but once in the clinch, Choi showed off his massive power with short shots and knees, and Luo could not continue into the second round.

The next round of the Openweight Tournament, the Semifinals, will be held at either ROAD FC 029 on 5 March, 2016 in Seoul, South Korea, or ROAD FC 030 in April in China. The match ups have been set. Choi Hong-Man versus Aorigele promises to be heigh versus width in a bout of staggering proportions - literally. Mighty Mo versus Myung Hyun-Man will see two incredibly devastating strikers face off in what should be a brutal display of hard-hitting action.

The next event, ROAD FC 028 will be held on 31 January at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea. The Main Event will be Middleweight Champion Riki Fukuda (23-7-0-1) making his first title defense against Korea's number one-ranked welterweight, Cha Jung-Hwan (11-6-3).

Riki Fukuda cut a clear path to the ROAD FC Middleweight Championship in 2014 and 2015. The consummate UFC veteran dispatched all comers to end up on a 4-fight win streak of finishes. Earning the championship belt meant earning a 6-figure paycheck as well, and fans can bet that Riki isn't willing to relinquish either anytime soon. His grinding aggression will surely be turned up a notch as he meets an unlikely - and tricky - first challenger in Cha Jung-Hwan.

Cha Jung-Hwan is one of Korea's most notable fighters, with knockouts over such stellar opponents as Ryo Chonan and Igor Gracie. His most recent win was a decision over the highly-respected Alexandre Barros, which set right back-to-back Draws with Andrews Nakahara and Luis Ramos. Cha, who is the coach of ROAD FC Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom, is a well-rounded, brutal and yet tactical fighter who brings an interesting twist to Fukuda's tank gun attack.
