Xiaomi ROAD FC 034 opens $1 Million Lightweight Tournament with China Trials

12 October, 2016 – ROAD Fighting Championship is excited to announce the opening phase of the ROAD FC $1 Million Dollar Lightweight Tournament with the China Trials on Xiaomi ROAD FC 034. The event will take place on 19 November at the 9,400-seat Hebei Gymnasium in Shijiazhuang (石家庄), the capital and largest city of Hebei, China.

 

The ROAD FC $1 Million Dollar Lightweight Tournament was announced at today's press conference for Xiaomi ROAD FC 034 in Shijiazhuang, China. The tournament will be comprised of 32 70-kilogram fighters bracketed to face one another in what will take five rounds to reach the Finals, and is expected to begin in March of 2017. ROAD FC has already invited a number of highest-level international fighters to compete, and hundreds more have made enquiry.  

 


 

 

At Xiaomi ROAD FC 034, 8 fighters in China will compete in the China Trials, and the four winners will earn the right to be seeded in the tournament. Trials for the zones of Korea, Japan, North and South America, and Brazil will be made shortly.

 

Many ROAD FC fighters, media, sponsors, and Shijiazhuang dignitaries were on hand at today's full-capacity press conference. 

 

ROAD FC Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom brought his belt with him, which he will put on the line against Turkish sensation Murat Kazgan. China's surging Alateng Heili and Korea's Jo Nam-Jin faced off in what will be their second time fighting in China, this time for the right to challenge Flyweight Champion Song Min-Jong. China's most thrilling female fighter Yan Xiaonan met her next opponent, Japanese warhorse Fujino Emi, for the first time. National wrestlers Hou Zhenlin of China and Shim Gun-Oh of Korea got heated in their first ever face off. Finally, China's beloved kungfu panda Aorigele stood nose to nose with Japan's stalwart Kawaguchi Yusuke – for once Aorigele can see eye to eye with his opponent!

 


 


 


 


 


 

 

Shijiazhuang's Deputy Mayor Zhang Ye extended a welcome to ROAD FC in China, as well as Party Committee Secretary Sun Rui Bin, and Provincial Sports Bureau Director Liu Zimei. Hebei University Dean of Civil Engineering, who is also Vice President of the Calligraphy and Culture Institute, along with Vice President of the Chinese Calligrapher's Association Niu Jianxin presented two beautiful scrolls to commemorate the advent of ROAD FC events in Hebei.

ROAD FC is currently negotiating a venue with a capacity of 18,000. 360GAME ROAD FC 027 will be broadcast live in China and internationally across multiple platforms, which ROAD FC CEO Jung revealed included: “China's State-owned broadcaster CCTV, local terrestrial broadcasters, and the internet portal of Tencent, we are scheduled to broadcast.”  Tencent is Asia's largest internet company and competes with the largest internet companies in the world.  Tencent's internet portal QQ.com is one of the largest in China.
