Xiaomi ROAD FC 033 Official results: Mighty Mo wins first Openweight Championship in tie-breaker with Choi Hong-Man

Xiaomi ROAD FC 033 on 24 September, 2016 was an outstanding success for ROAD Fighting Championship and ROAD FC fans. Eight fights on the Main Card thrilled with non-stop action and shoked with unpredictable finishes and super fast KOs.  A full house and international broadcasts scored record numbers.

In the Main Event, an historic match between behemoths of the sport ushered in the first ROAD FC Openweight Champion. Choi Hong-Man and Mighty Mo met for the third time in their respective careers in a tie-breaker bout after punching their way through the ROAD FC Openweight Tournament.

The men cautiously approached each other as the bout opened. Mo was the first to get in and score brutal left hooks to the body. Choi weathered, came back with his fear-inducing clinch and let knees fly. Mo punched out, cornered Choi to the cage, and with precision landed shots to the face that echoed through the area with resounding thuds.

Choi delighted the hometown crown with his granite chin and game smile. Familiarity with his opponent seemed to launch Choi back into his fighting instincts. However, Mo finally found the sweet spot with a right shot to the temple that dropped Techno Goliath on his rear. Choi was down, but not out, so when the ref waived off the fight, he quickly stood and congratulated his long-time rival.

Mighty Mo again impressed with his amazing power, even at the end of long shots to Choi's lofty head. When ROAD FC CEO Jung Mun-Hong strapped the Openweight Championship belt around his waist Mo beamed with pride. He said,

“I'm really thankful for the opportunity to become the first ROAD FC Openweight Champion. This is for my family, to show them what you can do with hard work and dedication. I hope that there will be many more good challengers for my belt.”

During the post-fight press conference, Choi Hong-Man apologized for his performance but didn't signal his intent to give up. He said,

“I feel bad, and I'm really sorry for my performance. I regret this fight a lot. Mighty Mo's punches are very powerful. I need one more chance, please.”
