 XIAOMI ROAD FC 046 ANNOUNCEMENT

FEATHERWEIGHT CONTENDER MATCH:

KIM SE-YEONG VS LEE JEONG-YEONG

ROAD Fighting Championship announces a battle for the Contender to face Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom. Hot prospects Kim Se-Yeong and Lee Jeong-Yeong will rematch for the right to fight for the belt.

Kim Se-Yeong (4-1, Team Korea MMA) is one of the strongest prospects in Korea today. He's already faced international competition, making his pro debut in China at ROAD FC 030. Kim has a talented group of fighters to learn from including ROAD FC Lightweight Champion Kwon A-Sol and former Bantamweight Champion Lee Yun-Jun.

Lee Jeong-Yeong (4-1, Ssen Gym) is a 23-year old submission ace with an excellent amateur record before he turned pro in 2014. Lee then did his mandatory military service and returned in 2016. He continued his winning streak back to back in ROAD FC 33 and 35 with a final split decision in a thrilling match with veteran Kim Ho-Jun.

Kim and Lee first met each other in a battle of the hot prospects at ROAD FC 039. The bout went the distance, and was non-stop action – both fighters were strategic and showed why they are up-and-coming fighters to watch, yet both aggressively went for the finish. Kim gained the edge in points and was awarded the victory. A rematch was immediately agreed upon, but it was delayed when Kim was injured in training. Instead, Lee faced tough veteran grappler Marcio Cesar and showed a brilliant and vicious performance, getting the TKO victory.

Kim and Lee represent the next generation of well-rounded, strong Korean MMA fighters who have developed through the ROAD FC amateur divisions and the Young Guns series. With the fireworks they presented last time, Kim versus Lee 2 should be even more of a thriller, and this time there's a whole lot more riding on the outcome: a chance to face the reigning Featherweight Champ, Choi Mu-Gyeom!

The four fighters in the semifinals for the $1 Million Tournament represent the best lightweights from across the globe. All have fought at least four matches to get to this point, and combined, they've accrued a tally of 126 professional MMA fights.

Ronys Torres versus Shamil Zavurov is a contrast in grappling styles between the best lightweights from Brazil and Russia in this semifinals match. Torres likes to show off his superb technique to get the finish, while Zavurov is willing to grind his opponents down round after round.

Shimoishi Kota versus Mansour Barnaoui will two very different approaches to showcase power, timing and technique in their semifinals match. Shimoishi quickly engages to get the fight to the ground, while Barnaoui looks for the opening to finish in any position, standing or grappling.
