Elnur Agaev wins the Russia Trials in MFP for the ROAD FC $1 Million Tournament

 

 


 

 

ROAD Fighting Championship is proud to announce the winner of the Russia Trials in MFP for the $1 Million Lightweight Tournament “Road to A-Sol”.


Modern Fighting Pankration (MFP) held the Russia Trials for the ROAD FC $1 Million Tournament during MFP 207 “Nord Fight” on February 25 in Yakutsk, Russia. Elnur Agaev won the right to be seeded in the Tournament as the Russia Trials representative.


In the first match, Elnur Agaev took Pavel Gordeev to a hard fought Unanimous Decision victory to advance to the final match.


In the second match, Herman Beryozkin also went to a Unanimous Decision against Evgeny Lakhin to advance to the finals.


Beryozkin was injured from his tough match and was not able to proceed to the finals, so Agaev became the winner of the Trials and thus advanced to the Tournament.


$1 Million Tournament Regional Qualifiers


The regional qualifying will yield the following seeds: China – 2, Southeast Asia – 1, Korea and international – 10, Russia – 1, and Japan – 1 for a total of 15 participants. The remaining spot will be announced at a later date.

After setting a bench mark of one event almost every month in 2014, ROAD FC embarked on a global expansion plan and held its first ever international event in Tokyo, Japan in 2015. This year will also witness more dramatic growth as ROAD FC will host its first show in China, in the metropolis of Shanghai, on 26 December. ROAD FC is currently negotiating a venue with a capacity of 18,000. 360GAME ROAD FC 027 will be broadcast live in China and internationally across multiple platforms, which ROAD FC CEO Jung revealed included: “China's State-owned broadcaster CCTV, local terrestrial broadcasters, and the internet portal of Tencent, we are scheduled to broadcast.”  Tencent is Asia's largest internet company and competes with the largest internet companies in the world.  Tencent's internet portal QQ.com is one of the largest in China.
